On Monday, we had some members of St Andrews Bowls Club come into school and show us how to play indoor bowls. They were very impressed with how we quickly picked up the skills. If you are interested in playing bowls, please contact the club or see the flyer that was sent home with your child!
Tuesday
Year 5 were excellent role models and created an outstanding multiskills festival for years 1 and 2. There were so many different activities. Rumour has it that year 1 gave the Year 5's festival 11 out of 10!!
Wednesday
Hula hooping from LiveLoveHoop took Oldmixon by storm! The children learnt how to keep the hoop going and some tricks with a hula hoop. The children (and the adults) were surprised at what great exercise hula hooping can be! A super shout out to Year 6 who enjoyed hula hooping as soon as they got back to school from Kilve Court despite their two days of sleep deprivation!
Thursday
The infamous discgolf tournament. The children took to the four holed course in search of becoming champion! Winners will be revealed next week after we have recovered some frisbees from the roof...
Friday - SPORTS DAY
Despite the heat, all of children showed resilience and determination in our sports day and had a fabulous morning. There were some speedy runners, great egg balancers and some brilliant aimers in archery!
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during sports day. However, we are sure you understand the changes that were made and the hard work put in from the Oldmixon team!

Dear parents/carers,
Our sports day for years 1-6 tomorrow from 9am - 10:30am IS going ahead. There have been many safety measures put into place including increased shade time, water breaks and activity amendments. Please ensure your child has their PE kit, a hat, sun cream applied before coming to school and a water bottle.
Please arrive at the Year 6 gate at 9:00am.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be extremely limited shade for spectators. We recommend wearing a hat, bringing an umbrella and plenty of water to keep yourselves and other spectators safe. Children in years 1-6 will be kept in the shade where possible for all activities. This is a no photo event due to photo permissions of some of our pupils. Oldmixon adults will take plenty of photos and upload these accordingly.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning for a wonderful day of sport! 3 Likes
